NEW TEXTBOOKS, NEW COURSES

For many years we have studied Hyvin menee! textbook. Now it has become quite difficult to find in book stores and public libraries. We still like it a lot, but this spring we decided that it is time to move on. The new textbook on courses Finnish Language Basic Course 1-4  is Oma suomi 1 and courses 5-7 Oma suomi 2.  

Online courses Brush-up your Finnish 1-2 will study book Oma suomi 1. New online courses Finnish for Beginners 1-4 that replace courses First Steps ans Second Steps will use textbook Sun suomi. In it English is used throughout the book in task descriptions, grammar points and information sections.

NEWS IN PLAIN FINNISH - SELKOUUTISET

Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE  has a very useful site Selkouutiset for those who know already some Finnish but would like to widen their vocabulary and practice to understand language that is used in news. You can now listen to broadcasts in plain Finnish with simplified language in slow speed on internet. Service includes also texts and listening comprehension exercises.

Now you can watch Finnish language course Kuulostaa hyvältä - Sounds good 1 -30 in YouTube.
